About Me: Why I Do This Work and How Serenity Health Began
I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Caroline Lalier, a certified integrative nutrition health coach and the founder of Serenity Health. Since this is often the first place people land when getting to know my work, I wanted to share a bit about my story, what led me here, and how I support women today through personalized nutrition and lifestyle coaching.
A Little About Me
I grew up just outside of New York City, studied Advertising and Marketing Communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and now live in Wilmington, North Carolina with my family. My background in media shaped how I think about communication, behavior change, and sustainability, skills that now deeply inform my coaching work.
Outside of work, I’m someone who finds joy in simple, grounding rituals. Great food, beach walks, yoga, Pilates, meditation, time in nature, skincare, music, and being present with my family. I believe deeply in intuition, nervous system support, and building a life that feels nourishing, not just productive.
The Beginning of My Health Journey
Before becoming a health coach, I looked “healthy” on paper. I exercised regularly, ate what I thought was well, and maintained a busy, full life. But internally, something felt off.
I struggled with chronic digestive issues, low energy, and cycles of burnout that made it hard to get through the day. I relied on alcohol more than I realized, felt constantly depleted, and carried a quiet sense of dissatisfaction that I couldn’t fully explain.
Everything intensified after I came off hormonal birth control after nearly a decade. My body changed rapidly. I experienced persistent acne, unexplained weight gain, and emotional volatility that felt completely out of my control. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
Like many women, the diagnosis left me feeling confused, ashamed, and disconnected from my body. PCOS is unfortunately so common, affecting up to 1 in 5 women, yet it is often misunderstood and poorly supported. I was given little guidance beyond vague dietary advice and prescriptions that didn’t address the full picture of what was happening in my body.
Healing PCOS, Restoring Trust, and Becoming a Mother
What followed was not a quick fix, but a slow, meaningful process of learning how to support my hormones, blood sugar, digestion, and stress levels in a way that worked for my body.
Through nutrition, lifestyle shifts, and nervous system support, my symptoms began to ease. My cycles became more regular. My energy stabilized. My relationship with food softened. I stopped fighting my body and started listening to it.
This approach not only helped me manage my PCOS symptoms long-term, but also helped me get pregnant naturally and navigate pregnancy and postpartum with intention and care. Becoming a mother deepened my understanding of how dramatically life seasons can change, and how essential it is that wellness support adapts accordingly.
Motherhood reinforced what I already believed: health has to be realistic, flexible, and rooted in compassion to be sustainable.
Why I Became a Health Coach
In 2020, amid the uncertainty of the pandemic, my priorities became unmistakably clear. Health was no longer something to put on the back burner. It was foundational.
I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to turn my passion into my purpose. My training gave me the tools to understand the complex interplay between nutrition, hormones, gut health, stress, and behavior change, and to support women in a way that honors the whole picture.
Healing myself changed my life. Supporting other women in doing the same became my calling.
How I Work With Clients
Today, I work with women privately through personalized, one-on-one nutrition and lifestyle coaching. My clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed by conflicting wellness advice, frustrated by symptoms that don’t respond to rigid plans, or disconnected from their bodies after years of trying to “do everything right.”
I specialize in:
• Hormonal health and PCOS
• Sustainable weight support without restriction
• Gut health and digestion
• Fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum nutrition
• Building realistic routines that support busy, full lives
My coaching style is supportive, evidence-based, and deeply individualized. Together, we focus on steady habit-building, blood sugar balance, nourishment, and clarity rather than extremes. Clients often share that they feel more confident, energized, and at ease around food, sometimes for the first time in years.
In addition to private practice, I’ve worked with clients through digital health platforms like Wellory, and my writing and expert insights have been featured in Poosh.
The Philosophy Behind Serenity Health
Serenity Health is rooted in the belief that health is not one-size-fits-all, and it is not a destination. It is an ongoing practice shaped by life seasons, personal history, and individual physiology.
Rather than rigid plans or quick fixes, I help clients build supportive habits that evolve with them. Small, consistent shifts, like eating regularly, supporting blood sugar, managing stress, and honoring rest, often lead to the most meaningful change.
My role as a health coach is not to tell you what to do, but to help you understand your body, cut through the noise, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
If you’re here, I’m honored to be part of your journey.
I can’t wait to connect.
x, Caroline
